About PacketPath

Built to make the NYCHA landlord lease-up easier to follow.

PacketPath is an independent educational and organizational resource for NYC property owners working through the NYCHA Section 8 lease-up process.

What PacketPath does

Turns a scattered lease-up process into practical stages: packet preparation, RFTA review, submission, rent reasonableness, inspection, follow-up, and move-in authorization.

Who it is for

NYC landlords and property managers who already have, or expect to work with, a NYCHA Housing Choice Voucher lease-up and want a clearer working process.

What it does not do

PacketPath does not submit documents to NYCHA, determine eligibility, predict approval, provide legal advice, or replace official NYCHA or HUD instructions.

How guidance is handled

Official sources first.

PacketPath pages link back to the NYCHA and HUD material used for important requirements. Procedures can change, so dates are shown where guidance has been reviewed and users are encouraged to verify current instructions before submitting.

Current review date: August 30, 2026. See the Sources & Updates page for the primary references behind the site.
